To say the Catholic Church began with Constantine is absurd and unrealistic in light of History.
.) There is evidence of a church similar to the Catholic church way before the time of Constantine. Look up the Early Church Fathers.
.) A text known as the Didache describes what coule be best called an early Catholic Mass. It is written in 90 AD, long before Constantine!
.) Christians were being persecuted long before the reign of Constantine. They were relatively unified in their persecution so it's unlikely Constantine only legalized only ONE FORM of Christianity.
.) Also, the Christians in Rome were being killed for rituals in which they supposedly drank human blood. This points to the pagans' misunderstanding of the Lord's Supper in which the early Christians believed the body and blood of Christ are consumed. - This is a Catholic belief.
.) There are lists of Bishops of Rome (or popes) before Constantine, dating back to 67 AD.
.) The Book of Acts describes a church with episcopal structure.
